Got a fairly early start before 6:30 am. Nice clear hot day, and feeling pretty good.

Great sunrise.

The mornings are incredible. Comfortable temps, no wind and great views.

Grass lakes and others I can’t get to.

More lakes. Sure look inviting.

Views and more views.

Lovely

Nice close needed water spot.

Usually on these long uphills I can’t take any photos, but this young buck insisted on being in this blog.

Can’t really see the wildflowers but they are very think and very fragrant.

Great vistas

.2 miles to water and my camp spot after 18 miles. South fork spring.

Had to clear out a spot to camp. No one else hiked down here. Lots of bugs so I hid in my tent.

Camp spot worked out ok. Still a little sore, but doing ok after a 2nd day of pretty high miles for me (typical thru hikers routinely get 25 to 30 miles a day, wow!)
