Miles 942.2 to mile 942.7. The plan was to hike 3 PCT sections covering 212 miles with Craig. Sadly, the fires stopped us after only 75 miles
On 8/15/21 Tommy drove myself and Craig W to Tuolumne meadows. Wild drive up with crazy pocket rockets and Sports car driving like madmen. Had a nice lunch at diner (good luck because the Tuolumne Meadows Grill had just closed for the season). Arrived early and we did the 1/2 mile from the wilderness center to the Lambert Dome trailhead. We then camped at the TM backpackers site, and got ready for an early start the next day.

No signs of any future issues at this point. Clear skies and great weather. Will have to carry 7 days of food and a 2 pound bear can, and 4 pounds of water so my early total pack weight will be 30 pounds, a lot for me. Bringing less clothes and a lighter cooking system, which should help a tad.
