Started at 7am. That’s too late.

The first time this morning I saw sun. It took an hour. I need to make that 2 hours or more to avoid the heat.

Trying to avoid the sun.

Made it to Julian. Hitched for a while with no success, that’s Sunny on the bench, an Oklahoma boy. The professor saved me and brought me into Julian. He maintains the cache under the overpass and is a really nice and interesting fellow.

That was my sunrise on the way to scissors
Made it to Moms pie shop and got a free pie slice ,ice cream scoop, and a drink. Very nice.
Ok. I get it. Crazy vistas, great views. All good. They now look the same to me. Lol. So less scenic shots and more personal and people stuff if possible.
I should have taken a group photo. These are really nice people. Saw Goodwill (Logan) again. We met when I was resting on day one. Also ran into Ariana again (soon to be a grad student in Seattle). Also met Immaculate, Bear, and a few other interesting hikers.
Julian is an interesting town. It was hopping and super active during the day but completely shuts down by 8pm. The Gold Rush hotel that I am staying at is nice,
I may need to lose pounds off my pack, and dump the stove and fuel, as odd as that sounds. We will see.
Wow! You’re in Julian already! You are
really making good time! Glad you got that free pie! There was a 3.5 earthquake today in the Coachella Valley and our friends tell us there are high winds. Are you getting any of that?
